Greek yogurt chicken marinade—it doubles as a sauce
Ever had chicken so tender it practically melts in your mouth? The secret’s in the marinade! This Greek yogurt chicken marinade will have everyone begging for seconds. Whether you’re grilling, air frying, or baking in the oven, this is one of those Greek chicken recipes that will take your chicken game to a whole new healthy level. Plus, it doubles as a sauce!
In a large bowl combine the Greek yogurt with the olive oil, the thyme, the smoked paprika, the cumin, the onion powder, the garlic powder and the miso paste (see note #2). Mix well and reserve a few spoonfuls in a separate small bowl to use as a sauce - if the reserved sauce is too thick add a splash of water. Then, add the lemon juice to the bowl with the marinade and mix again.
Place the chicken on a clean cutting board and sprinkle with salt.👉 If using chicken breasts, place them between two sheets of parchment paper and pound gently with a rolling pin or another heavy object to even out the thickness.
Add the chicken to the marinade, and mix well making sure each piece is fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 60 minutes (or overnight for maximum flavor).
Cook it your way and serve sprinkled with fresh chopped parsley, dill or chives and the reserved sauce.👉 Cooking instructions for air fryer, grilling or baking in the notes section below ⬇️.
